BAGHI (2010)

Jahangir Khan Jani , just can't get enough blood on his hands and all over him , trying to promote justice and preserve peace in his native land (and dance a jig or too , while his at it !) !
Baghi as a title , may refer to one of the following (besides the latest Abraz Khan actioner/drama with the same title) :
Emadeddin Baghi , an Iranian rights activist and investigative journalist . I don't think he was fighting for other people's rights , carrying an AK-47 , so this is not a bio-pic about him .
Baghi (1939) , an Indian film in Hindi , black and white . Nope , almost every pashto film with Jahangir was made after 2008 .
Baghi (1953) , an Indian film in Hindi , directed by Anand Thakur , black and white . This neither .
Baghi (1956) , a Pakistani film in Urdu , black and white . Maybe this is a remake ?
Baghi (1964) , an Indian film in Hindi , directed by Ram Dayal , color . Nope .
Baghi (2005) , an Indian film in Punjabi , directed by Sukminder Dhanjal , starring Om Puri . Don't think so .
Baghi , an alternate title for the 1984 Japanese anime film Bagi , the Monster of Mighty Nature by Osamu Tezuka . Definately not this one !
Baghi is another tele-drama wild-east (since most people carry guns) actioner , featuring our favorite "defendor" of justice . Let's keep it at that . This is unknown territory for me folks , and i try my best with every bit of info i can find on the net for these films , and believe me , there's not a thing about them in English . Even Wikipedia has limited entries about Pollywood films .
Jahangir is a grocer . He sells fruits on the road market . On his grocery table he has oranges , pears and a theatrical midget helper . They are good friends . Guys with guns go and take some oranges from him without paying . Another tough guy checks the scene from the other side of the road . Jahangir beats both strangers up . Each fight scene is repeated three times . The midget rejoices . On the way , another guy shows up , but he gets his punches as well . The three bullies are driven away by Jahangir's scary screams ! The man watching the incident approaches our hero and congratulates him . Jahangir returns home after a long day's work for some shuteye . The man watching him told him something important earlier , 'cause he keeps hearing his words in his head !
The next day , a posh hot chick approaches Jahangir in his open fruit table . He has another midget helper now . He seems to know her and tries to avoid her . He doesn't manage to do so and she talks to him . He sends her away , but she starts singing ! Her clothes change colours as she does so ! This is digital magic ! The two midgets rejoice once again and make their midgety silly dance ! I think she wants him , but Jahangir as always , plays hard to get ! Well , when the street weird party ends , the hot chick returns home . There her distressed father is waiting for her . When he sees her wearing a blue-jean , he gives her a thundering slap on the face ! That will teach her to be dressed like a westrener whore ! In the meantime , more tough guys return to the market and start beatting up grocers ! Jahangir is ready to leap into action once again ! No one dares to oppose them ! The violent incident comes to an end , and Jahangir is taken by his friend (the earlier observer) to a dude who walks and you can hear his steps ramble on the earth (i'll call him Thunderfoot) ! I think he's a gangster boss . I get what's going on . Jahangir has a twin brother who's a hardened criminal and the wiseguys think he's his brother ! Or he simply looks like him a lot and he's bound to be exploited for it ! We see Jahangir B put some led on some other dudes with guns , somewhere else ! The Police Captain is yelling at his men ! His name is Jamal . Inspector Jamal . Or "inspectera" as they call him . Why can't they catch Jahangir B , damn it !? Nevermind that , it's time for some more singing and dancing ! The gangsters have some fun watching a chubby chick with blue eye lenses sing and dance for them ... Or there isn't any twin brother at all ? This is what happens when you don't speak the language and when the narative action is surreal ! I think there's only one Jahangir , 'cause even his midgets have joined the gang ! Either way , after the singing is over , the police arrives . The singer tells them about Jahangir . Is this betrayal ? We'll see .
Later , on the same day , the singer is being chased by two mobsters ! Jahangir B comes to the rescue ! The girlfriend of Jahangir A sees him and mistakes him for her grocer lover . She runs away sad . She confronts him afterwards and sings for him for 5 minutes (wearing traditional clothes now - she learned her lesson) . What a mess ! Thunderfoot and his boys pay a visit to a guy . Jahangir B comes out of nowhere and kills him in clear day light .
A love story with another chick (not that hot as the previous ones) and a dude who's probably Jahangir B's legit brother takes place .

Sing and dance now . Again ... It's the lovebirds i told you about before the intermission . Jahangir B , always carrying an AK-47 , meets the couple . He gives them his blessing . They rejoice and get married . Extreme cardio chase scene between gangsters and police . Inspectera Jamal manages to catch one alive , but Jahangir B comes out of the shadows and silences him for good ! Thunderfoot congratulates his champion . Jahangir B calls Inspectera Jamal on his cellphone to gloat (?) ! Jahangir A's girlfriend finds a chance for some more singing and dancing in a public garden . Jahangir B has a heartfelt conversation with his brother . More gangsters hustle his girfriend and chase her around ! The heroic police Captain enters the scene and beats all three of them . They even break some lambs (you know , the long ones that look like lightsabers) on each other's heads to make it look more macho ! Jahangir B happens to be passing by , and after watching Inspectera Jamal escorting the girlfriend of his brother , points his kalasnikof at his face ! Time for another song . The damsell in distress sings for the heroic Jamal . Jamal is in civilian clothes and they walk carefree in a garden ... Back to real time , Inspectera Jamal talks with one of his men . He seems in love . Jahangir B finds the three losers who had fun with his brother's sister . They where having fun dancing on the street by themselves . They continue their dance , only now the rythm in their bodies is brought by the flying bullets of Jahangir B's infinite ammo weapon ! Thunderfoot seems troubled by Jahangir B's ultraviolent ways ! But hey , nothing a good song can't fix , right ? This time Jahangir B takes the microphone and starts singing to the sweetheart of Jahangir A , in yet another up-tempo semi-sad hit ! It's weird seeing guys holding kalasnikovs sing to their loved ones ... Tough luck though , 'cause the always tempered father cathes his daughter hanging out with him ! She slaps her and Jahangir B points his gun at him ! The father leaves with his daughter ... Inspectera Jamal on the other hand , confides his love to the girlfriend of Jahangir B's brother ! Brother is a witness to this . It will not end well . I have a bad feeling for all the mixed up coupling going on here ! Jahangir A sees the father of his girlfriend and tries to talk to him , unaware that his doppelganger has allready threatened him with bloody death ! What a revolting development ! The father doesn't even look him in the eye . Jahangir B learns about Inspectera's feelings and goes to have a talk . Without a gun this time . Or is he Jahangir A ? He seems in shock after hearing about the murders he's commited by the Inspectera ... Wait a minute ?! There are no two Jahangirs here ! It's only one ! And i also heard people calling him Abdulah ! So there we have it ! Abdulah is a split personality , one meek and eager to please , and the other a hardcore triggerhappy gangster ! He gives his weapon to Inspectera and surrenders himself to justice ! While in prison , Thunderfoot and his goons , pay a visit to Abdulah's family ! They shoot down his brother , his sister and his brother's girfriend ! Abdulah (having heard about this) escapes from prison through an explosion and still with sackles on hands , comes face to face with the three killers ! Inspectera Jamal races with time , trying to stop him ! His girlfriend runs to the scene , as Abdulah screams in desperate hatred and dodges bullets ! His enemies taunt him ! The police intervenes , but a policeman loses his kalasnikov after a villain shoots it off his grasp ! It lands on Abdulah's hands ! Now the tide turns ! The villains find tragic death as bullets fly all over the place . It starts raining ... Abdulah falls on his knees crying ... He talks in echo mode to his girlfriend ... His words reverb to the final cut ...
